The Lagos State Old Swimmers Association (LOSA) has honoured the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, for his contributions to sports development and his support for the swimming community in the state.
Eko Hot News reports that the award was presented in recognition of the outstanding performance of young Lagos swimmers, who won 19 gold medals at the 9th National Youth Games held in Asaba, Delta State.

The victory marked the first time Lagos would emerge overall champions at the U-15 multi-sport event, ending Delta State’s long-standing dominance. Swimming played a major role in boosting the state’s medal tally.
The success at the National Youth Games further strengthened Lagos’ reputation as a leading hub for talent discovery and sports development, supported by an enabling environment and well-motivated technical personnel.

According to LOSA, the award ceremony was organised to celebrate excellence and the growing collaboration driving swimming development in the state. It also provided an opportunity to honour past administrators, coaches, and swimmers for their contributions to the sport.
