The Lagos State Government has held a high-level review meeting on the implementation of its Transport Policy to advance sustainable mobility across the state.
Eko Hot News reports that the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, led the session alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Olawale Musa.
The meeting brought together policy consultants headed by Prof. George Banjo and the management team of the Ministry of Transportation to assess progress and align strategies.

Discussions focused on five core components designed to drive sustainability and ensure the effective actualisation of the Lagos State Transport Policy.
Officials examined implementation milestones, institutional coordination, infrastructure development, and regulatory frameworks guiding the transport ecosystem.
The Commissioner stressed the importance of data-driven planning and stakeholder collaboration in achieving long-term transport reforms.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to building an integrated, efficient, and environmentally responsible transport system for residents.
The Lagos State Transport Policy emerged from a landmark decision by the state government to transform mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.
It provides a strategic roadmap for improving road, rail, water, and non-motorised transport systems across Lagos.

Stakeholders at the meeting agreed on the need for continuous monitoring and adaptive strategies to meet the demands of a growing population.
