Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative leadership as a strategy to drive excellence, strengthen institutional discipline, and deliver impactful economic outcomes across the state.

Eko Hot News reports that the Head of Service, Mr Olabode Agoro, made this known at the opening of the Year 2025 Ministerial Retreat of the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI) held in Ikeja.

Speaking on the theme, “Collaborative Leadership: Partnership to Drive Excellence,” Agoro stressed that Lagos, as Nigeria’s economic nerve centre, must prioritise structured alignment over isolated ambition.

He noted that partnership is essential to unlocking the state’s full economic potential in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.

Agoro commended MCCTI for reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business, strengthening investor engagement, and expanding support for cooperatives and MSMEs through coordinated inter-agency collaboration.

In her welcome address, Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs Folashade Bada Ambrose, described the retreat as a platform for reflection, alignment, and renewed commitment.

She highlighted achievements, including cooperative-based financing under LASMECO, the Lagos State Export Readiness Programme (LASERP), regulatory improvements, and engagement with local and international investors.

Ambrose also disclosed the initiation of a new industrial policy to redefine Lagos’ industrial landscape and boost enterprise growth.

Permanent Secretary, Mr Babatunde Onigbanjo, emphasised discipline, leadership, and stakeholder engagement as critical pillars for institutional credibility and performance.
