The 2025 Lagos State Christian pilgrims have commenced visits to key biblical and historical sites in Jordan as part of their 10-day holy pilgrimage exercise.
Eko Hot News reports that the pilgrims visited Mount Nebo, the Fortress of Machaerus, and the Dead Sea, marking the beginning of their guided spiritual tour ahead of their entry into Israel.
At Mount Nebo, the pilgrims viewed the location where Moses is believed to have seen the Promised Land of Canaan and admired the Brazen Serpent Monument, a symbol linked to the bronze serpent raised by Moses in biblical history.
The journey continued to Mukawir, also known as Machaerus, the ancient hilltop fortress of Herod the Great, where John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded, offering pilgrims a deeper reflection on biblical events.

The pilgrims also visited the Dead Sea, recognised as the lowest point on earth, where they experienced its unique natural features while reflecting on its historical and spiritual significance.
Throughout the tour, the Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi, alongside operational staff, ensured the safety, welfare, and smooth coordination of the pilgrimage activities.

Pilgrims offered prayers and praises at each site for personal spiritual growth, the Lagos State Government, and the nation, reinforcing the spiritual focus of the journey.
Devotional sessions were also held daily, including morning and evening prayers, as well as praise sessions inside the buses while travelling between sites.

Many pilgrims expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity, sharing testimonies on the spiritual impact of the experience so far.
The pilgrims are expected to proceed into Israel in the next phase of the pilgrimage, where additional biblical sites will be visited.
