Oba Akiolu has appealed for a peaceful Lagos LG Election 2025.

Eko Hot News reports that the Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa Rilwan Akiolu, has appealed to all Lagos residents to conduct themselves in a good manner and participate peacefully in the local council election by shunning violence.

The Oba of Lagos made the appeal on Thursday, July 10, 2025, when leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria paid a visit to his palace to inform him about the church’s 100th anniversary in Nigeria and to invite him to participate in the celebration.

Oba Akiolu, who asked the religious leaders to pray for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, implored Nigerians to understand that politicians do not fight or quarrel, but only disagree, so residents should not be used as a tool to cause a crisis.

The Lagos monarch was very optimistic that the election would turn out well, saying he is for all and not against any, though all human beings are equal before God, but not loved equally.

Oba Akiolu insisted that he does not see chaos in the election, as he wants to remain very positive, imploring all residents to participate by being law-abiding and playing by the rules guiding the election.

The monarch urged all stakeholders in the election to remain calm and pray that the election proceeds smoothly.

Oba Akiolu thanked the clerics for coming to inform and invite him to the 100th anniversary of the church, promising that the whitecap chiefs would fully represent the palace during the celebration.

He also encouraged them to continue praying for the country and for Tinubu to be reelected.

According to him, he does not doubt that Tinubu would win the next presidential election despite the opposition and coalition against his re-election bid.

Also speaking, Archbishop Apanishile Olufemi said the Cherubim and Seraphim Church was founded in Lagos 100 years ago, and it was proper to carry along the monarch as the church celebrates.

The Archbishop said the church has lined up numerous activities to mark the anniversary, which will be celebrated by the church across the country.
