The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced extended operations on the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line ahead of this year’s “The Experience 2025” gospel concert.
Eko Hot News reports that the Blue Line will run beyond its regular 9:30 pm closing time on Friday, December 5, 2025, with trains operating until 11:43 pm. This extension ensures that thousands of commuters travelling to and from the event can move safely and efficiently.
The move aims to accommodate the large number of attendees expected at Africa’s largest gospel music event.

LAMATA further stated that operations on Saturday, December 6, will begin early at 4:00 am and continue until 9:30 pm to accommodate early arrivals and post-event travel. The Red Line will maintain its regular Friday schedule and will not operate on Saturday, December 6.

Kolawole Ojelabi, LAMATA’s Head of Corporate Communication, emphasised that both Red and Blue Line services will revert to normal operations on Sunday, December 7. Commuters are urged to use Cowry Cards for access and to follow station guidance for a smooth travel experience.
“The adjustments in train schedules are necessary to manage commuter traffic effectively and prevent congestion on Lagos Island during the event weekend,” the statement read. LAMATA assured residents that additional measures will be in place to ensure passenger safety throughout the event.
With The Experience 2025 drawing thousands of gospel music fans from across Nigeria and beyond, the extended rail service underscores Lagos State’s commitment to seamless urban transportation during major public events.
