The Lagos State Government has disbursed financial assistance cheques to 300 additional beneficiaries under the Eko Cares Programme, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive governance and social protection.
Eko Hot News reports that the presentation ceremony was held at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), as part of ongoing efforts to support indigent residents across the state.
Addressing beneficiaries, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore congratulated recipients and described the programme as a clear demonstration of the dividends of democracy promised by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.

She conveyed the goodwill of the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, noting that the initiative is designed to provide timely relief to vulnerable residents.
Engr. Shasore emphasised that the financial assistance is a right of eligible Lagosians and encouraged beneficiaries to fully utilise government programmes aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.

She explained that the Eko Cares Programme reflects the administration’s focus on compassionate governance and people-centred policies that address real social and economic needs.
Beneficiaries were advised to use the funds responsibly to improve their living conditions, meet pressing financial obligations, and support sustainable livelihood activities in line with their applications.

The Eko Cares Programme remains a key component of the Lagos State Government’s broader social intervention framework, targeted at easing economic hardship and promoting social inclusion.
