The Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) has hosted fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) on a special waterways tour.

According to him, the administration has prioritised the development of water transport infrastructure.
He noted that LAGFERRY has recorded significant passenger growth over time.
The agency moved over four million passengers by 2026.
This marks a sharp increase from just over forty thousand passengers recorded in 2020.
Balogun also highlighted the expansion of operational capacity.
LAGFERRY now operates across 17 terminals and jetties.
It serves 27 routes across different parts of the state.
The agency has also expanded its fleet to 20 vessels.

This growth reflects ongoing efforts to improve transportation options.
Balogun emphasised the importance of safety in all operations.
He noted that the agency maintains strict safety standards.
Passengers are required to wear lifejackets at all times during trips.
All routes are covered by comprehensive insurance policies.
Boat captains also undergo regular training to ensure professionalism.
Routine maintenance of vessels is carried out to guarantee reliability.
The visit featured a guided cruise for the fellows.
They boarded the MV Adimu Orisa barge for the experience.
The journey began at the Five Cowries Terminal in Falomo.
Participants enjoyed views of key landmarks along the Lagos coastline.
