The Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps, popularly known as KAI, has commenced its 2026 “Scale A” parade exercise to assess the fitness and health status of its operatives across Lagos State.

Eko Hot News reports that the three-day exercise is designed to evaluate the physical well-being of operatives and ensure they are fit to effectively carry out their daily responsibilities across the metropolis.

The Corps Marshal, Olaniyi Olatunbosun Cole, disclosed this during an interaction with journalists at the Agency’s Command Headquarters in Bolade Oshodi. He described operatives as the backbone of enforcement activities across the Agency’s 21 divisional beats.

According to him, the Scale A parade ensures that operatives’ fitness levels are verified through medical assessments and supervisory evaluations, reinforcing their readiness for service.

He explained that the exercise, which began on April 9 and ends on April 11, 2026, is structured to allow smooth transportation and maintain uninterrupted operations across the State.

Cole noted that the initiative also serves as a refresher programme, reflecting the commitment of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to the welfare, safety, and efficiency of enforcement personnel.

The Corps Marshal highlighted that the Scale A parade, introduced in 2024, has recorded measurable progress by creating a reliable database of operatives’ health and functional capacity for improved service delivery.

He added that operatives found to require attention would be recommended for medical care, counselling, and further evaluation, which supports recovery and overall performance.

Cole further urged personnel to remain dedicated to their responsibilities in maintaining environmental standards and supporting the State’s sanitation goals.

He also reiterated existing regulations on environmental compliance, noting that activities such as displaying goods on road setbacks, verges, and other restricted areas are not permitted as they impact the environment negatively.

The exercise underscores Lagos State’s continued focus on building a professional and health-conscious enforcement workforce capable of delivering effective environmental services.
