The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, has joined top military and government officials at the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Interdenominational Church Service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
Eko Hot News reports that the solemn service was part of nationwide activities marking the annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, dedicated to honouring fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defence of Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty.

The church service was attended by the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), who represented the Federal Government at the event, alongside other senior officials of the nation’s security architecture.
Also present was the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, who led the Armed Forces delegation, including the Service Chiefs of the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The interdenominational service featured prayers for the repose of the souls of fallen officers and soldiers, as well as supplications for peace, security, and stability across the country.
Religious leaders used the occasion to call for national unity, moral responsibility, and continued support for members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies battling insecurity.

IGP Egbetokun’s presence underscored the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to collaborative security efforts and inter-agency cooperation in safeguarding lives and property.
The event also served as a moment of reflection on the sacrifices made by serving and retired personnel of the Armed Forces and other security services in the line of duty.
Attendees observed moments of prayers and thanksgiving, while emphasizing the need for collective action in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

Armed Forces Remembrance Day activities continue across the country with wreath-laying ceremonies, public lectures, and community engagements.
