The Hospital Transformation Support Initiative (HTSI) Team has commended General Hospital Somolu for delivering quality healthcare services despite operational constraints.
Eko Hot News reports that the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Cecilia Abimbola Mabogunje, led the team on an inspection tour of the hospital
She was received by the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr Mustapha Adebola Quadri, and his management team.
Dr. Mabogunje praised the hospital for maintaining high hygiene standards and ensuring effective patient care despite space limitations.
She urged staff to sustain teamwork in line with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda for a Greater Lagos.
In his remarks, Dr. Quadri disclosed that the hospital has recorded a rise in patient patronage, particularly among individuals who previously relied on self-medication.
He highlighted recent milestones, including improvements at the Physiotherapy Clinic and ongoing expansion aimed at transforming the facility into a world-class centre.
The Medical Director expressed appreciation to the state government for its support while requesting additional personnel to strengthen service delivery.
The HTSI Team toured key departments including Accident and Emergency, Laboratory, Theatre, Paediatrics, Dental, Pharmacy, Catering, Records, and the Male and Female Wards.
They also inspected the construction site of the hospital’s new expansion project.
