The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District V, Dr Oladapo Asiyanbi, has praised Local Government Health Authorities (LGHAs) and Ward Health Committees (WHCs) for their commitment to improving healthcare outcomes across the district.

Eko Hot News reports that Dr Asiyanbi gave the commendation during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting held at Braimoh Valentine Hall, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Secretariat, where he reaffirmed the State Government’s dedication to strengthening primary healthcare and promoting community participation.

At the meeting, the Director of Medical Services, Dr Ahmad Amina Bello, acknowledged the efforts of LGHA and WHC teams in driving community health programmes and urged polio supervisors to ensure proper household marking and accurate documentation during immunisation exercises.

She stressed that maintaining high-quality data remains essential for effective monitoring and tracking of immunisation coverage, especially in challenging locations. She encouraged regular collaboration with Local Immunisation Officers to prevent gaps during field activities.

Dr Ahmad also addressed issues faced in hard-to-reach and riverine communities, noting that despite their dispersed nature, Health District V will continue prioritising access to essential health services for residents in remote settlements.

The session featured an open dialogue where stakeholders discussed ward-level challenges and proposed practical solutions aimed at improving health service delivery across the district.
