The Lagos State Health District III has commended the health intervention initiative of the Oba Olúmẹgbọ́n of Ajah and Okun-Ajah Kingdom, Oba Abdul Lateef Kolawole Lawal, carried out to mark his first coronation anniversary.
Eko Hot News reports that the commendation was given by the Permanent Secretary of Health District III, Dr Monsurat Adeleke, during activities commemorating the monarch’s first year on the throne.
The anniversary celebration featured humanitarian and health-focused programmes aimed at improving access to healthcare and supporting vulnerable residents within Ajah and neighbouring communities.
Dr Adeleke described the monarch’s comprehensive medical outreach as timely and impactful, noting its contribution to community health and general well-being.

She stated that the outreach delivered essential health services, including medical consultations, health screenings, and public health education.
According to her, the initiative reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare and early detection of common health conditions among residents.
The Permanent Secretary also acknowledged the distribution of gifts and support items to pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children receiving care at the Maternal and Child Centre (MCC), Eti-Osa.

She noted that the items were distributed by the monarch through his wife, Queen Taofeekat Oluwa-Olumegbon, during a visit to the facility.
Dr Adeleke said the gesture brought relief and encouragement to beneficiaries, especially mothers and children on admission.
She added that the Queen personally interacted with patients, offering words of comfort and solidarity during the hospital visit.

The Permanent Secretary commended the initiative for complementing government efforts to strengthen maternal and child health services.
She emphasised that partnerships with traditional institutions are vital for building trust and promoting people-centred healthcare delivery.
Dr Adeleke noted that the intervention aligns with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda, particularly the Health and Environment and Social Inclusion pillars.

She reaffirmed Health District III’s commitment to sustained collaboration with traditional rulers and community leaders.
She stressed that such partnerships remain essential to ensuring equitable, compassionate, and quality healthcare for all residents.
