The Lagos Zonal Headquarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has formally received its newly appointed Zonal Commanding Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Mathew O. Olonisaye, in a ceremony marked by full regimental honours.

Eko Hot News reports that the ceremonial reception underscored the importance of leadership continuity within the Corps, as senior officers and personnel gathered to officially welcome the new Zonal Commander to the Lagos Zone.

In his address, Assistant Corps Marshal Olonisaye expressed deep appreciation to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, FCA, FCTA, CPFA, for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the FRSC’s 2026 Strategic Goals, pledging to uphold professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence across the Zone.

Olonisaye emphasised effective traffic flow management as a key priority, with particular attention on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, one of the nation’s busiest and most strategic transport corridors.

He also stressed strict adherence to the Corps’ ethics, regulations, and standard operating procedures, noting that discipline remains central to achieving safer roads and public trust.

The Zonal Commanding Officer called for teamwork among officers and men, urging personnel to work as a unified force in delivering the Corps’ mandate.

He further highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration with key stakeholders, including transport unions, security agencies, and the general public, to enhance road safety outcomes.
