The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Mrs Mojisola Christiana Yusuff, has carried out a monitoring visit to public schools in the Idi-Araba community, Mushin, as part of preparations for second-term academic activities.

Eko Hot News reports that Mrs Yusuff visited four public schools in the area to assess their readiness, infrastructure, and learning environment ahead of the resumption of full academic programmes.

During the tour, the TG/PS and her team paid a courtesy visit to the Sarki of Idi-Araba, Alhaji Hassan Abubakar Aliyu, at his palace, where she stressed the growing importance of education in the 21st century.

Mrs Yusuff expressed concern over rising cases of indiscipline among students and called on traditional and community leaders to play active roles in promoting discipline, enrolment, and student retention within public schools.

She emphasised that education thrives best when schools and host communities work together, urging stakeholders to support government efforts by protecting school facilities and encouraging positive values among students.

According to her, stronger collaboration between Education District VI and the Idi-Araba community is essential for sustaining school infrastructure and ensuring long-term academic success for learners.

Responding on behalf of the Sarki, the Secretary of the Council, Alhaji Hussain H. Abdullahi, reaffirmed the community’s commitment to supporting educational development in the area.

He stated that the Idi-Araba community does not tolerate indiscipline and is fully aligned with initiatives aimed at creating a safe and conducive learning environment for students.

Alhaji Abdullahi pledged the palace’s readiness to partner with the Education District in sensitising parents, guardians, and other stakeholders on the importance of enrolling children in school and ensuring they complete their secondary education.

The visit underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to community engagement as a strategy for strengthening public education and improving learning outcomes across the state.
