Education District III has secured 500 scholarship slots for students and youths through a strategic partnership with the Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
Eko Hot News reports that the initiative was facilitated by the Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District III, Mr Olusegun Olawale Osinaike, in collaboration with the Council Leader of Itire/Ikate LCDA, Hon. Agbeyangi Olaoluwa Andre.
The scholarship scheme was unveiled during a sensitisation visit aimed at expanding access to quality education for students within Education District III.
Under the programme, 500 beneficiaries will receive financial support to pursue academic programmes at Grace Polytechnic.

The initiative is designed to bridge financial gaps that often prevent capable students from continuing their education.
Hon. Agbeyangi explained that successful candidates would receive up to 85 per cent tuition fee coverage under the scheme.
He described the programme as a deliberate investment in human capital development and youth empowerment.
The council leader noted that many talented students are unable to further their education due to financial constraints.

He stated that the scholarship scheme would help reduce dropout rates and encourage academic excellence among youths.
Mr Osinaike said the initiative was inspired by a similar scholarship programme he facilitated during his tenure at Education District IV.
According to him, the success of the earlier intervention informed the decision to replicate the model in Education District III.
He added that the partnership would ensure students in the district benefit from life-changing educational opportunities.
Despite Education District III being outside his immediate jurisdiction, Hon. Agbeyangi approved the request in the interest of inclusive youth development.

Representing the TG/PS at the event, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Olalekan Rufai, expressed appreciation to the council leader.
He commended the gesture as a demonstration of commitment to education and youth advancement.
Stakeholders described the initiative as a significant boost to educational access within the district.
The scholarship scheme is expected to positively impact students, families, and the wider community.
