A 16-year-old student, Oluwatariiresimi Agbeyangi, has donated essential baby items to the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre, Ikoyi, to support newborns, young mothers, and vulnerable families.

Eko Hot News reports that the donation was made under Agbeyangi’s student-led humanitarian initiative, The Cradle Project, and included diapers and baby wipes to ease the challenges faced by mothers during hospital care.

The donation, presented over the weekend in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, was aimed at providing relief and comfort to indigent mothers and families undergoing difficult circumstances, particularly during postnatal care.

Agbeyangi, a student of The Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas, explained that The Cradle Project was inspired by her awareness of the struggles faced by single mothers, teenage mothers, and women entering motherhood under challenging conditions.

She noted that many families lack access to basic baby necessities during stressful periods of hospitalisation, adding that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in vulnerable moments.

The young philanthropist disclosed that the project focuses on direct donations to hospitals and care homes to ensure timely, transparent, and dignified support for beneficiaries.

To fund the initiative, she operates a small baking business, Cradle Crumbs, selling homemade baked goods, with proceeds dedicated to purchasing baby essentials.

He described the donation as timely, noting that baby essentials are critical to maternal and child healthcare, especially for mothers accessing public health services.

The Chairman encouraged youths and private individuals to support community-driven healthcare initiatives that strengthen maternal and child welfare.
