The seventh edition of the Art of Technology Lagos (AOT 7.0) Conference was held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre, bringing together key players from Nigeria’s technology and innovation sectors.
Eko Hot News reports that policymakers, founders, researchers, developers, investors, and public-sector leaders converged to discuss how emerging technologies—especially artificial intelligence—can drive a more sustainable and resilient Lagos.
Themed “Future Technologies & a Sustainable Lagos,” this year’s edition continued its tradition of fostering collaboration on digital transformation, economic expansion, and long-term innovation strategies.
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, addressed participants and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a digitally connected smart city. He highlighted expansions in digital infrastructure, ongoing research funding, and major smart-city projects across the state.
He also revealed that the Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC) has supported more than 75 startups across agritech, edtech, construction tech, and climate-focused innovation.
The Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Tubosun Alake, reflected on the growth of the AOT platform over the past seven years. He noted that Lagos-based startups secured over $6 billion in investment between 2019 and 2024, representing Nigeria’s highest technology funding within that period.
The conference attracted prominent figures from diverse sectors, including Dr Victor Afolabi of Eko Innovation Centre, Sara Sabry of Deep Space Initiative, Dr Abba Aliyu of the Rural Electrification Agency, and Seyi Akindeinde of Hyperspace Technologies Ltd.
