The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has received delegations from the Nigeria-Britain Association (NBA) and Spring-Board for Education, Nigeria, in separate courtesy visits aimed at strengthening educational partnerships and advancing youth development initiatives in the State.
Eko Hot News reports that the Nigeria-Britain Association delegation, led by its President, Mr Sola Oyetayo, visited the Ministry to appreciate its support for the successful hosting of the 2025 Annual Akintola Williams Youth Debate Competition for Lagos State public secondary schools.
During the visit, discussions focused on sustaining collaboration and exploring additional support for the 2026 edition of the debate competition, which is scheduled to commence in February 2026.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, who received the delegation alongside other management staff, commended the Nigeria-Britain Association for its continued investment in youth intellectual development and civic engagement.
She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to initiatives that promote critical thinking, confidence, and leadership skills among students in public secondary schools across Lagos State.

In a related development, Mrs Dokunmu-Adegbite also received a delegation from Spring-Board for Education, Nigeria, led by Mr Allexander Faranpojo.
The organisation, which is backed by the Western Australian Government, paid a courtesy visit to explore collaboration and partnership opportunities with the Ministry in areas of education development and capacity building.

Discussions during the meeting centred on possible programmes and frameworks that could enhance teaching quality, learning outcomes, and institutional support within Lagos State’s basic and secondary education system.

The Permanent Secretary welcomed the interest shown by Spring-Board for Education, noting that strategic partnerships with reputable local and international institutions remain key to strengthening the education sector.

She assured both delegations of the Ministry’s openness to collaborations that align with the State Government’s vision of delivering inclusive, quality, and globally competitive education for all learners.
