The Lagos State Lands Bureau has called on its staff to seek approvals for higher education and professional certifications to enhance career development and progression within the civil service.
Eko Hot News reports that the call was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Mr Kamar Olowoshago, during the Personnel Management Board meeting for further studies and conversion held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Bureau’s Conference Room.

Mr Olowoshago emphasised the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement, noting that acquiring new knowledge and skills is essential for officers to remain competitive and valuable within the public sector.
He encouraged staff to fully leverage available opportunities to improve both academic and professional qualifications, thereby contributing more effectively to service delivery and governance.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Engr. Abdulhafis Toriola, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure and Development, Esv. Olayinka Wasiu. Also present were the Executive Secretary, LUAC, Dr. (Mrs.) Ajetunmobi Ololade, and the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Civil Service Commission, Olaopin Grace.

The Permanent Secretaries jointly highlighted that continuous professional development is crucial to meet the evolving demands of public service, ensuring that the workforce remains skilled, efficient, and adaptable.
The session also served as a platform for inter-agency collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, where senior officials engaged with staff on strategies for career advancement and upward mobility within the civil service.
