In a decisive step to enhance healthcare delivery, Lagos Health District II has trained its staff on mindset transformation and attitudinal change, reinforcing the District’s commitment to professionalism and quality service across all health facilities.
Eko Hot News reports that the three-day sensitisation, conducted under the Service Charter Initiative, brought together health workers from primary healthcare centres and district hospitals. The programme focused on instilling a culture of excellence, emphasising that the way staff interact with patients directly reflects the District’s reputation and Lagos State’s broader healthcare goals.

Permanent Secretary, Dr Dayo Lajide, stressed that improving service delivery begins with positive attitudinal change and a mindset geared towards patient-centred care. “Every interaction with a client is an opportunity to demonstrate who we are as a District. Respect, professionalism, and timely service must define every engagement,” she said.
The training also featured sessions led by Mrs Joan Olayemi from the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Service Improvement Office, who provided practical guidance on implementing the Service Charter in daily operations. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, role plays, and exercises designed to foster teamwork, effective communication, and accountability at all levels.

Health workers expressed renewed dedication to their roles, acknowledging the importance of adopting proactive behaviours, enhancing information flow, and consistently delivering high-quality care. The initiative aligns with Lagos State Government’s strategic drive to strengthen primary healthcare, improve citizen satisfaction, and build resilient health systems across the state.
By prioritising mindset and attitudinal change, Lagos Health District II aims to set a standard for patient-centred care, ensuring that residents receive efficient, compassionate, and professional healthcare services at every touchpoint.
